It pains me to write, I feel so bad that you are a victim of the process of destruction of me by the ruling regime.
As a man, as my lawyer, you publicized the torture and abuse against me by that criminal woman.
It is obvious that the regime uses this criminal woman against you, organizing her appeal to the court.
Appointed to September 29, the trial is intended to intimidate the lawyers and deprive the "prisoners of conscience" of protection.
Today in Azerbaijan there have remained 5-7 lawyers who have the courage to defend the "prisoners of conscience". I know the courage and strength needed to dare to defend us.
Better than anyone else, I know of no independent judiciary in Azerbaijan.
And yet I appeal to you: "Your Honor, you have clearly stated what guilty verdict is needed to render the lawyer Alaif Hasanov. But listen and think about what morality and honor you are breaking, accusing the lawyer who defended his client subjected to torture? "
I admire your courage and fortitude, our dear lawyers.
Your Leyla Yunus

Modern wars test humanity's resilience, compelling a reevaluation of priorities and values. In such times, it is especially crucial to demonstrate not only strength but also a commitment to the principles of international law and humanity. Ukraine, facing an unprecedented scale of armed aggression from the Russian Federation, continues to uphold the norms of international humanitarian law (IHL) while resisting this aggression. The Voluntary Report presented by Ukraine's Ministry of Defense has become a symbol of transparency, accountability, and the pursuit of justice.

"Human rights" derive their foundation from justice. Justice is natural and connected to creation. From the moment of birth, this right is naturally granted to every person. Law, however, is something given — limited to what parliaments deem appropriate for us. The extent to which parliament represents justice and fairness is always a matter of debate.
