Samantha Power arrives in Azerbaijan
Baku/27.09.23/Turan: The head of the US Agency for International Development (USAID) Samantha Power arrived in Azerbaijan on September 27.
According to the USAID representative office in Baku, Power will hold meetings with Azerbaijani officials, with whom she will discuss the situation in the region and prospects for establishing lasting peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
It should be noted that Paeur arrived in Azerbaijan from Armenia, where she was together with Acting Assistant Secretary of State Yuri Kim, where they announced the allocation of US assistance to Karabakh Armenians who left for this country after the anti-terrorist operation on September 19-20. ---06в---

On January 13, the trial in the case of public activist Nijat Ibrahim continued in the Baku Serious Crimes Court under the chairmanship of Judge Aygun Gurbanova. The trial was suspended after Ibrahim, in protest against the illegal arrest, began banging his head against the "aquarium cage", trying to commit suicide. The International Committee of Concerned Scholars (ICS) has appealed to the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, requesting his assistance in securing the release of the arrested researcher, Igbal Abilov.
