Today is the birthday of the great jazzman Vagif Mustafazadeh. His birth and death is associated with the number 16. He was born on March 16, 1940, and died December on16, 1979. He was born in Icheri Sheher, and left this world in the distance - in Tashkent.
Fame came to him in the Baku Music Academy, where he received his education. He was loved for the performance of classical jazz, blues and rhythmic songs. He then worked in such famous bands as "Orera", "Caucasian jazz trio", "Layla", "Sevil", "Mugam". Mustafazadeh glorified Azerbaijan in many international jazz festivals, winning a huge success.
Vagif is the author of the concerts for symphony orchestra, unfinished symphony "Mugam", numerous jazz compositions and plays. He was called the founder of Azerbaijani jazz, new jazz thinking. He created a synthesis of mugam with classical jazz. He became the author of the musical genre called mugam jazz. Therefore, he is called a sculptor mugham jazz. In 2015, Azerbaijan was the jazz festival "Vagifsayagy" dedicated to 75th the great maestro. Among the followers of Mustafazadeh are two of his talented daughters - Lala and Aziza Mustfazade.
