A famous carpet weaverEldar Mikailzade completed the work over the new carpet called “The Universe.” The size of the carper 2x2 has been created for over two years using wool, cotton and silk threads.
When creating a carpet more than 700 colors were used.
This is how the author explained the idea of creating the carpet: approximately in the fifth century, during the reign of the Sassanid, there appeared the carpet "Baharistan", embroidered with precious stones. It was mentioned by Arab historians, Taberi. During the invasion of the Arabs the carpet disappeared, and during the next 1500 years the carpet with a similar ornament was not created.
On the carpet along with the major signs of Zodiac are depicted 27 semi-zodiacs used in the Babylon-Sumerian astronomy; 725 gems have been weaved into the carpet. -05C04-

On February 11, the Ritual Theatre and Creative Laboratory in Baku hosted a powerful documentary theatre performance, “The Melting Snow Stories of Baku,” marking the conclusion of a workshop dedicated to site-specific theatre. This workshop brought together 15 artists from various age groups, all exploring the transformative power of storytelling to address climate change. The event was directed by British theatre director Sebastian Harcombe of SECRET/HEART Theatre Company and Aynur Zərrintac of Ritual Theatre. It was supported by the British Council.
