The famous founder of the "Gaya" quartet deceased in Israel
Baku/28.09.21/Turan: On September 26, the founder and artistic director of the "Gaya" vocal ensemble Teymur Mirzoev died in Israel. This was reported by the Israel-Azerbaijan Friendship Association.
Created in the early 60s, the vocal quartet "Gaya" was one of the most popular musical groups of the USSR in the 60s and 70s.
The ensemble actually broke up in the late 80s, and in 1998 Teymur Mirzoev moved with his family to Israel, where he lived until recently.
The last soloist of the quartet still alive is Lev Elisovetskiy. -02D-

Their performance on the night of May 8 did not secure a spot in the finals, echoing last year’s outcome with the TuralTuranX brothers. Both years, Azerbaijani representatives performed twelfth and showcased a reserved stage presence, markedly distinct from the flamboyant displays often celebrated at Eurovision.
