Narmin Shahmarzadeh to Go to Court to Punish Hackers

Baku/11.03.21/Turan: The personal Facebook profile of public activist Narmin Shahmarzadeh was hacked by unknown people. The profile was tied to the activist's mobile phones and e-mail and was guarded by two computer programs.

In an interview with the Çətin Sual program, she expressed her suspicion that the hacking occurred with the permission of the mobile companies Bakcell and Azercell, while the data from her ID were used for hacking, which Facebook notified the profile owner.

Shahmarzadeh can see fragments of phones and e-mails of an unknown hacker, but his entire data is not available. Narmina's attempts to find out the truth from mobile operators were unsuccessful.

The intruders erased her critical posts about the police, government politics, and photography from her profile. The hackers added Narmin's personal information, edited photographs, fragments from her correspondence, and Narmina's remarks about events in the country. Some data is completely fictitious, - she said on the Internet program Difficult Question - Cətin Sual.

The attacks on her profile were also before an unauthorized and dispersed feminist action by the police on March 8, 2021, and the hacking occurred after this rally. Shahmarzadeh is sure that the hacking took place at the order of the authorities, since private individuals do not have the necessary resources for this.

Narmin Shahmarzadeh is known for her unpopular personal opinion about the heroic deed of the hero Mubariz Ibrahimov, which she shared in 2018. She was sharply criticized by the public, while others defended her, believing that everyone can express their position. Then her negative fame was caused by the unexpected attention of the pro-government press and the Milli Mejlis to the private opinion of a separate, then unknown citizen. After the authorities' increased attention to the post of Shahmarzadeh, the society began to discuss her position, although, as she believes, the people have many much more pressing problems.

She did not file a complaint with the Ministry of Internal Affairs, considering it useless. Shahmarzadeh intends to file an application with the court demanding to find and punish the hackers. If the Azerbaijani courts do not accept the expected decision, she will file a complaint with the European Court of Human Rights.

Hacker attacks on public activists disliked by the authorities occurred on other participants of the action - last year on the profile of Gyulnara Mehdiyeva. Several years ago, videos of an intimate nature, secretly filmed in the bedroom of a journalist criticizing the authorities, were posted online. Narmin believes that in such ways the authorities want to discredit socially active citizens in society. These efforts are unproductive, she believes. N. Shahmarzadeh intends to continue her activity. –0—
