"The Terter case". Who will be punished?
Baku/23.12.21/Turan: A joint statement of the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the State Security Service of December 17 said that the preliminary investigation of the so-called "Terter case" was taken under special control by the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan, investigative teams consisting of experienced and professional employees were created bodies of internal affairs and state security, and the procedural leadership of the preliminary investigation is entrusted to the First Deputy Prosecutor General.
The investigative process is at the center of public attention. Commenting on this issue on social networks and in the media, members of the public and some MPs expressed the opinion that many heads would roll in connection with this case.
How is the investigation progressing? Who's going to lose their head?
The politician Sahib Karimli answers these and other questions in the "Difficult Question" program.
According to him, the investigation has already begun collecting evidence. However, it should have been more open with society, and this process should be conducted more transparently. The press service of the Attorney General could be accountable to the public. This would give the affected people hope that serious steps are being taken towards solving this problem.
The public is convinced that the "Terter case" is a sabotage against the Azerbaijani army, committed by the Russian special services and aimed at weakening its combat capability and undermining morale. In fact, it was the most powerful geopolitical attack on Azerbaijan.
However, this case has another, legal aspect. There is legal nihilism here. People were tortured without trial or investigation, without testimony for libel.
After all this, there was an investigation, the courts of all instances passed, but everything was aimed not at identifying and punishing the perpetrators, but quite the opposite, at releasing them from responsibility. Although in this case the talks is about working for foreign secret services and a conspiracy in which the most senior officials, generals and state officials are involved. –0--
