The State Security Service exposed a group of video blackmailers
Baku/23.12.21/Turan: The State Security Service of Azerbaijan reported on the exposure of a group of persons who blackmailed citizens with their intimate video frames. The blackmailers are foreigners and the operation against them was carried out jointly with the Bulgarian security forces, the State Security Service said in a statement. According to the same source, citizens of Gurjan Stoyanov, Tezjan Stoyanov, Sevinch Niyazi and others were arrested in the Bulgarian province of Silistra.
During 2021, the State Security Service received reports of blackmailing Azerbaijani citizens with their intimate videos. A lawsuit has been filed under several articles.
According to the materials of the investigation, the members of the group organized video calls to the accounts of citizens, showing porn materials. At the same time, they videotaped citizens watching porn. After that, the members of the group called these people on Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp and blackmailed them by distributing these frames, demanding that they transfer money. The investigation identified 32 members of the group, as well as the fact that about 200 Azerbaijani citizens suffered from their actions.
After establishing that the criminal group was located in Bulgaria, a joint operation was carried out with the law enforcement agencies of this country. Members of the group were arrested, the State Security Service of Azerbaijan said.
In 2021, several videos of this type appeared on social networks, after which a number of state officials in Azerbaijan were fired. -03D-
