Who struck the “Iskander” strike? , expert Ismail

Baku/03.04.21/Turan: The publishing only now the  shot of “Iskander” tactical missiles from Armenia against Azerbaijan during the second Karabakh war may have several reasons, security expert Ilham Ismail said in the program "Difficult Question" of the Turan news agency on April 2. According to him, the discovery of missile fragments revealed a number of false statements.

“One of them is that Russia supplied Armenia with “Iskander-M” the complexes, but did not confirm this. Another lie was that Armenia, having received these weapons, was hiding it. At the same time, Armenia and Russia kept silent about the launch, although they knew which of them struck.

The fact is that a missile strike was launched against Azerbaijan from the territory of Armenia. Now we need to determine who struck,” Ismail said.

He, referring to the data of Forbes magazine, noted that the Armenian side, trying to turn the tide of the second Karabakh war, inflicted several missile strikes on Azerbaijan. According to Ismail, Russia did not sell, but simply donated “Iskander” complexes to Armenia after local clashes in Karabakh in April 2016. For Armenia does not have the money to buy such expensive weapons.

Apart from Armenia, no “Iskander” countries have been supplied. As for Azerbaijan's making this issue public now, this is an indicator of any disagreements between Baku and Moscow. Azerbaijan has many questions to the Russian Federation. Thus, after the deployment of Russian peacekeepers, the Armenians are returning to the region intensively.

However, Azerbaijanis are not returned to their homes. There may be other ulterior motives behind this scandal.

At the same time, he stressed that Azerbaijan demonstrated back in April 2016 that it would not compromise on the Karabakh issue. In the 44-day war in the fall of 2020, Azerbaijan liberated the territories that had been under occupation for about 30 years, expert Ismail said. -05B06-
