83% of Industrial Products Made in Baku
In the first nine months of this year, industrial output in Baku amounted to 16 billion 365.3 million AZN in comparable prices by 1.2% more than in the same period of 2014, Turan was told in the statistics department of the capital.
The share of Baku during the period accounted for 83% of industrial production of the country.
The government notes that on the result of the 2003 three state programs for socio-economic development of regions were opened hundreds of businesses outside of Baku. This led to the growth of industrial production, employment in the region, but the capital is still the industrial center of the country, and probably it will continue for many years, economists say.
According to the State Statistics Committee, the activities of 24 industrial enterprises in Baku suspended in 2014. At the beginning of this year the number was 1,225. Six years ago in Baku 1,380 enterprises operated.
In 2014, the volume of industrial production in Baku totaled 28.2 billion manat, decreasing by 6.7%. ---08B

The 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change has taken a significant step towards a unified global response to climate change.
