Azerbaijan Returns Lusine Abovyan to Armenia
The 73-year-old Armenian citizen Lusine Abovyan arrested in Azerbaijan on November 8 was returned to the Armenian side with the mediation of the ICRC on 12 November. The transfer took place at the Armenian-Azeri border, on the road between Gazakh and Ijevan.
According to the report, the ICRC as a neutral intermediary and in accordance with its mandate, together with the authorities of Armenia and Azerbaijan has helped repatriate the woman.
Before repatriation Abovian was visited by representatives of the Red Cross, and she expressed her willingness to return to Armenia. -06D--
