ANS TV channel agreed to put into operation transponder capacity of Azerspace 1
Azerkosmos open-type joint stock company (JSC) has started a commercial activity and the first private ANS TV channel has become the first user of its services.
Yesterday Azerkosmos and independent broadcasting and media company ANS signed the agreement to put into operation the transponder capacity of the telecommunication satellite.
Vahid Mustafayev, President of ANS group of companies, said that connection to the national satellite stimulate the cooperation.
Rashad Nabiyev, chairman of Board of Azerkosmos, has informed about the current activities and the future plans of JSC. During 2 months 5 million AZN was transferred to the account of Azerspace. Although the satellite’s service life is 15 years, it is planned to be used 17 years. During this period the profit is expected to total 560-600 million AZN.
Azerbaijani Minister of Communication and IT Ali Abbasov has also taken part at the ceremony of signing of the agreement. He said putting of the satellite to orbit cost 230 million AZN.
On the first stage in addition to local channels, about 50 TV and radio channels in English, Russian, Turkish and Persian languages will be broadcasted. Number of the channels will be gradually increased.—0-
