Azerbaijan has increased the reliability of Russian agricultural products
The Food Safety Agency of Azerbaijan has issued a permit to Russian agricultural enterprises to continue exporting their products to the republic in the coming year, the Russian Federal Service for Veterinary and Phytosanitary Supervision - Rosselkhoznadzor reports.
The Rosselkhoznadzor communicated that the exportation of products from Russian enterprises, enlisted in the register of exporters within the FGIS "VetIS" component "Cerberus," to Azerbaijan—specifically those carrying the status of "Unlimited," "Warning," and "Enhanced laboratory control"—can persist beyond January 1, 2024. This extension is applicable even to those products that have not undergone inspection by the Institute of Food Safety of Azerbaijan, as outlined in the official statement from the ministry.
The rationale behind this decision by the Azerbaijani regulator stems from the ongoing evaluation process concerning the equivalence of the Russian system of official food safety control. The Rosselkhoznadzor underscores that this move signals a collaborative step forward, reflecting the commitment of both nations to fostering a harmonious and mutually beneficial trade relationship in the realm of agricultural exports.
