Azerbaijan Improves Position in Terms of Broadband Internet
According to the report of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), in the last year Azerbaijan took the 52nd place among 189 countries in terms of fixed broadband Internet. What is included in such a position?
As stated in the document "State of Broadband 2015", for every 100 people across the country there have been recorded 19.8 connections to the World Wide Web (last year it was 17). Russia has 56th place, Moldova - 64, Kazakhstan - 70, Georgia - 72, Armenia - 83, Ukraine - 86, Kyrgyzstan - 104, Uzbekistan - 130, Tajikistan - 170, Turkmenistan - 178.
As for mobile broadband Internet, the level of penetration in the country is 46.8% (the year before - 43.9%) - 68th place in the world.
The penetration of broadband Internet among home users - 54.6% (in the year before, 51.5%) - the 26th place among 133 countries. According to the number of individual users of the global network of Azerbaijan took 63rd place among 191 countries with an index of 61% (58.7%).
According to the ITU, Azerbaijan is included in the list of 140 developing countries in this sector, it is ranked 25th in the number of individual users of the Internet with an index of 61% (58.7% the year before). --17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
