Azerbaijan's Tourism Industry Associations Unite in Praise of President Ilham Aliyev's Vision and Achievements

In a joint statement, Azerbaijan's tourism industry associations expressed their admiration for President Ilham Aliyev's leadership, attributing the country's transformative successes over the past two decades to his determination, political will, foresight, and independent political course.

The associations highlighted the pivotal role played by President Aliyev in the liberation of Azerbaijani territories under Armenian occupation for 30 years. They commended the victory achieved in the Patriotic War, noting the triumph of President Aliyev's purposeful and resolute policies, particularly the successful anti-terrorist operations of September 2023 that secured the nation's sovereignty.

Over the last 20 years, Azerbaijan has seen substantial developments in tourism infrastructure, including air, land, and railway facilities. The associations attributed the growth of investments in the modern hotel and tourism sector to these infrastructure improvements. International hotel brands, winter tourism complexes, wellness centers, and modern event venues have become integral parts of Azerbaijan's tourism landscape.

Tourism has emerged as a key driver of non-oil sector development, constituting 3.4% of the non-oil economy. President Aliyev's policies, including tax and customs privileges, visa regime liberalization, and creation of tourist and recreational zones, were acknowledged for revitalizing the sector.

The statement underlined advancements in human capital development, tourism education, and partnerships between the state and business. Azerbaijan has successfully hosted major international events, further enhancing its global standing. The decision to host the 29th session of COP29 signifies the country's increasing authority in the international arena.

Recognition by UNESCO for the restoration and inclusion of Azerbaijani heritage in the World Heritage List has positively impacted the nation's image, motivating global interest in tourism. The associations affirmed the ongoing transformation of Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur into modern tourist hubs, characterized by sustainable development and "green thinking."

The tourism industry associations declared their pride in President Ilham Aliyev's leadership, expressing full support for his policies. They emphasized the international admiration for Azerbaijan's achievements under President Aliyev's guidance, highlighting growing global interest in the country. The associations collectively called for the continuation of President Aliyev's policies, considering him the victorious leader of a triumphant nation.
