Baku Hosts General Meeting of International Transport Association
On April 1, a meeting of the board members and the general meeting of the Union of Legal Entities (ULE) International Association Trans-Caspian International Transport Corridor (IA TMTM) took place in Baku.
Heads of railway departments of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Georgia, CJSC Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company, as well as seaports of Baku, Aktau and Batumi took part in it, the press service of Azerbaijan Railways CJSC reported.
During the meeting of the board members, the approval of the Regulations on membership in the association, the Working Group on the development of TMTM, the composition of the working group, the Regulation on the remuneration of employees of the association, as well as the plan of activities of the ULE IA TMTM for 2017 were discussed.
The founders of the ULE decided to approve the new charter of the association, change the composition of the board of ULE, etc.
On August 3, 2015, the first test container train Nomad Express was launched along the trans-Caspian international transport route Shihezi-Dostyk-Aktau-Alyat. Later, Ukraine joined TMTM.
The Nomad Express train, traveling along the Trans-Caspian transport route, delivers cargo from China to Europe within 10-12 days. This is one of the main advantages of the transport corridor. After the completion of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, the cargo capacity of TMTM will increase, and the delivery time will be reduced, according to the Azerbaijan Railways. ----08D

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
