Baku Hosts Meeting of European Regional Expert Group on Flight Safety of ICAO
Baku / 06.10.17 / Turan: Today, on October 6, a five-day meeting of the European Regional Expert Group on Flight Safety of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) will conclude its work in Baku.
More than 60 specialists from 15 countries and five international and regional organizations (ICAO, IAC, EASA, IATA, and Euro Control), as well as representatives of the largest aircraft manufacturers Boeing and Airbus take part in this ninth conference.
Within the framework of the work of the Conference, practical seminars on taxonomy and flight safety were held in the first two days. Presentations were made by representatives of the aviation authorities of Azerbaijan, ICAO, IATA, IAC, Euro Control, and other officials. Based on the results of the first days of the conference, the results of the group"s work were approved and further ways of implementing safety initiatives at the regional level are planned.
The IE-REST group was established in 2013 at the initiative of the European and North Atlantic Bureau of ICAO. Its main goal is to develop and support initiatives and activities to improve the flight safety level. --- 08D
