Caspian Oil & Gas Starts in Expo Center Tomorrow

The traditional annual international exhibition and conference Caspian Oil and Gas starts in Baku tomorrow.

"Although it has been held for the 23rd time, the interest in it is not reduced and it is considered in scope as one of the best in the field of oil and gas production in the Caspian basin," the Executive Director of Iteca Caspian Farid Mammadov said at today’s press conference.

According to him, 15 per cent of the total number of exhibitors will participate for the first time. Among the debutants there are companies from the UK, Portugal, Romania, the United States and other countries. Total foreign participants occupy 63.7 per cent of the exhibition area.  

The exhibition will be held in Baku Expo Center from June 1 to 4. The solemn opening of the exhibition will be attended by the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

Among the VIP guests of Caspian Oil & Gas-2016 are the Deputy Secretary of State for Energy Diplomacy, Bureau of Energy Resources US Department of State Robin Dunnigan, the Special Trade Envoy of the UK Prime Minister in Azerbaijan, Baroness Emma Nicholson Winterborn, the Deputy Energy Minister of Georgia Mariam Valishvili, and senior representatives of companies such as BP, Statoil, Gazprom, Uzbekneftegaz and several others.

The international conference Caspian Oil & Gas will be held in the Marriott Absheron Hotel on June 2-3. The conference is expected to be attended by over 400 delegates from 30 countries. The conference program includes performances of more than 40 representatives of government agencies, leading experts in oil and gas industry, and leaders of major oil and gas companies.

The topics of the conference program include Azerbaijan's Role in Ensuring Energy Supplies in Eurasia, Gas Infrastructure of the Caspian: the Current Status of Major Projects in the Region and the Status of Their Implementation, Shah Deniz - 20 Years of Achievements and Look to the Future, Funding for Major Oil and Gas Projects, Expansion of the Energy Resources of Azerbaijan, Ensuring Environmental and Industrial Safety in Oil and Gas Industry, etc.   –12B—
