Baku hosts conference on "The use of the creative industries: Creativity and national development", organized by the State Copyright Agency of Azerbaijan.
According to chairman of the structure Professor Kamran Imanov, over the past 10 years, the piracy rate decreased significantly in intellectual areas: for example, the proportion of unlicensed products decreased by 11% in the market of audio and video products in the field of software and - 25%, in the field of book publishing - at 31%.
According to official figures given by the rapporteur, since the beginning of 1996 the Agency on Copyrights of Azerbaijan registered 10 391 works of art, as well as 6 646 authors and copyright holders. --17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
