Cost of Ticket on Baku-Sumgait Train Approved
The Tariff (Price) Council by its decision of 14 September approved the tariff for the electric trains on the route Baku-Sumgayit-Baku. The fare in the direction is 0.80 manat. At the intermediate stations the ticket price will be from 0.20 to 0.70 manat.
New tariffs (http://economy.gov.az/images/pdf/baki-sumqayit.pdf) shall come into force from today. It is noteworthy that the decision does not list the price of business class passenger seats.
CJSC Azerbaijani Railways has purchased three passenger trains consisting of three double-decker cars in Belarus this year. These cars can accommodate 99 people. They have 396 seats, including 84 in the business class.
According to the contract, before the end of this year two more trains will be delivered.
Note that an alternative route (bus) to Baku from Sumgayit costs 0.40 - 0.60 manat. A taxi fare, depending on the agreement of the parties, may be from 4 to 10 manat since taximeters are not used. ----08D

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
