Dragon Oil rented two drilling rigs to drill wells in Caspian sea
British-Arabian Dragon Oil company has concluded a contract with BKE Shelf Ltd, daughter company of Eurasia Drilling Company, to rent two self-lifting semi-submersible drilling rigs Neptune and Mercury within three years.
Dragon Oil, which has been extracting hydrocarbons in Turkmenistan on the basis of production sharing agreement (PSA) concluded with the Turkmenistan government in 1999, will use the rigs to drill wells on the contract area Cheleken in the Turkmenistan sector of the Caspian Sea. Cheleken includes two big fields –Ceytun (former LAM) and Jigalybek (former Banka Zhdanova).
Neptune drilling rig will work on the Cheleken nine months since quarter 4, 2013 and then Mercury drilling rig will continue the works.
Dragon Oil company’s headquarter is based in Dubai, it was registered in Ireland and its bloc of shares is owned by Emirates National Oil Co Ltd.
During 6 months, 2013 Dragon Oil received a net profit of $241.4 million. Hydrocarbons production increased up to 73,600 barrels a day against the same period in 2012, reported http://oilnews.kz.--0--
