Iran would like to restore Caspian oil swap operations
Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Zangane said it is necessary to eliminate all vagueness in the field of crude oil swap deliveries as soon as possible, reported IRNA Agency.
Minister added that it is impossible to ensure a proper scale of swap deliveries, until there are some unsolved issues.
Seyed Mohsen Kamsari, Director of the International Department of the Iranian National Oil Company, said that considering the potential available in the Iranian ports in the Caspian Sea, the company is fully ready to continue crude oil swap deliveries with the neighboring countries. He said Iran will observe its national interests while fulfilling the deliveries.
The carrying capacity of the infrastructure built on the Caspian Sea coast allows swapping up to 300,000 barrels of crude oil a day. There is also required infrastructure on the south of Iran to send an equivalent amount of crude oil to the consumers, reported http://www.iran.ru.
Previously Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan swapped oil via Iran.—0--
