For 12 Months the Number of Employees Grew by 1.1%
In June of this year, the economy of Azerbaijan involved 388.6 thousand employees. During 12 months their number increased by 16 thousand persons or 1.1%, the State Statistics Committee told Turan.
Growth in the number of employees was mainly due to the private sector. When in June 2011 in the private sector worked 513.4 thousand people, in June this year the figure reached 540 thousand people.
According to the GCS in the first quarter of this year, the number of the employed population was about 4.4 million people. In other words, every two thirds of the employed population had income from self-employment and has no steady income. Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
