Import of wheat increased by 13.2%

According to SSC, in 2015, wheat production in Azerbaijan amounted to 1 million 687.7 thousand tons, 16.5% more than in the previous year. Yield per 1 ha (31.3 quintals) increased by 30.4%.
The independent expert Vahid Maharramov said that Azerbaijan wheat is used to meet the needs of the livestock and poultry. The demand for food grain is dependent on imports.
