In December was the highest inflation in the last two years
Baku/14.01.14/Turan : State Statistics Committee unveiled on January 14th, the consumer price index in December. Consumer prices rose compared to November average of 1.9% , which is the highest figure in the last 24 months. The impetus for inflation was the increase in fuel prices , the retail price is regulated by the state .
According to the State Statistics Committee, in December, food prices grew by 2.6% , non-food products - 2.7% , paid services - 0.4%. According to observations by employees of this department , for the past month increased the price of flour, rice, pasta, beef, mutton , chicken , fish , meat , dairy products , butter , eggs, and many fruits and vegetables. They also recorded a decline in beetroots, carrots , lemons, oranges and tangerines .
President Ilham Aliyev during the January 9 meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers said that annual inflation in the last year was 2.4 % and that , in his opinion , is a good indicator . It is noteworthy that the State Statistics Committee to date avoids unveil the official figure on the level of the consumer price index for 2013 .
In 2012, the official inflation rate was 1.1 %. However, the alternative estimate of the public association Center for Economic Research is that inflation was 9.9% . - 08B-
