Police have not confirmed the charges against I.Mamedov and T. Yagublu
In Sheki Court at the trial of the Ismayilli events, on January 14 in the first half of the day, the testimony of prosecution witnesses, police officers, continued.
First spoke a captain of the police rapid response regiment of MIA, Elmir Aliyev.
Further testimony was given by a police officer from Ismayilli, Bashir Khalafov. He refuted some of the testimony given at the preliminary investigation.
Thus, a witness reported that he saw the head of the REAL movement, Ilgar Mamedov, and the deputy chairman of Musavat, Tofig Yagublu, among the crowd in Ismayilli on January 24, but they stood in silence and watched the scene.
The prosecutor and the Judge began to demand clarification from the witness about the causes of discrepancies in his testimony. However, the policeman repeated that he did not see Yagublu or Mamedov committing illegal actions.
Another police officer, Valeh Sultanzadeh, also said he saw people throwing stones at police, but Yagublu and Mammadov did not take such actions.
After a break at 14.30 Sultanzadeh will continue his testimony.
At the trial, the condition of the accused, Sakhavat Samedov, worsened after a 5 day fast, protesting against the defamatory statements made against him by a police officer. On the night of January 10 Samedov even tried to hang himself, but he was rescued by his cellmate.
The court called an ambulance and after helping Samedov he was returned to the courtroom.
