Income from bus transportation increased by 9.9%
In 2013, the income of companies and individuals from passenger buses amounted to 344.6 million manat, increasing by 9.9%. The growth in the number of passengers using buses was 1.7% less than this figure, the State Committee of Statistics told Turan.
According to estimates of the SCS, the majority (72.5 %) of passenger buses accounted for licensed individuals. Revenues of private and public entities in the last year amounted to 94.9 million manat. Cash receipts of bus companies increased by 30 %.
In 2013, the book profit of the bus companies amounted to about 179 million or 4% more than in the previous year.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, in Azerbaijan there are 9,229 passenger buses.
According to the Ministry of Taxes and carriers, the largest transport companies involved in urban, intercity and international passenger services are: LLC Baki Sernishin Negliyyati ( 900 employees ), Transgate ( 1359 ), M-Trans ( 353), Gemigaya Negliyyat ( 318 ), Ugurlu Negliyyat ( 260 ), Design Negliyyat ( 127 ), BM-Negliyyat ( 93 ), Bayram-M ( 78 ), etc.
According to estimates of SCS, in 2013 in Azerbaijan buses transported 1,478.8 million passengers.
In 2008, the Ministry of Transport purchased at the expense of the state budget several hundred large buses and transferred them to the operation of state LLC Baki Sernishin Negliyyati (structure of the Ministry of Transport). Since last year, their privatization started.
This year, with the executive power of Baku was established an alternative transport company. The first batch of buses (150 units) for this structure has already been delivered to Azerbaijan from France. - 08B-
