Investments in Infrastructure through Capital Market
The State Securities Committee held a seminar on investment in infrastructure through the capital market on February 16, organized by the World Bank, the press service of the department said.
The seminar focused on the different models of financing infrastructure projects, risk allocation mechanisms of the financial sector, as well as the requirements needed to increase the investment attractiveness of the infrastructure sector in Azerbaijan.
Particular attention was paid to the state partnership with the private sector in addressing the infrastructure financing problems.
The seminar was attended by representatives of the Mortgage Fund, State Oil Fund (SOFAZ), JSC Irrigation and Water Management, JSC Azerbaijan Investment Company, CBA, as well as the Ministries of Finance and Economy.
Infrastructure projects in Azerbaijan are financed by the state budget, SOFAZ and loans from international financial institutions (World Bank, EBRD and ADB) and foreign banks. ------08D
