Over 15,000 jobs created in Azerbaijan as a part of Shah Deniz-2 project
Over 15,000 jobs were created as a part of the Shah Deniz-2 project operated by BP company, Bakhtiyar Aslanbeyli, BP Regional Vice President for International Relationships and Strategy, said yesterday in Baku during the I Azerbaijani CSR Conference-2015 “Stable Development and Corporate Social Responsibility.”
He said the foundation for development of any company is its business activity and investments into the future and BP is proud of supporting several development fields in Azerbaijan.
“At present BP is operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli, Shah Deniz and Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan projects, which employ 2900 Azerbaijani citizens. Majority of them work in Baku, but I would like to mention that Azerbaijani specialists also work in the US, UK and other countries. BP has created over 15,000 jobs on various sites as a part of the Shah-Deniz-2 project, which is worth $28 billion,” Aslanbeyli said.
BP Regional Vice President said that in the future the company will continue investing into development of local personnel.—0—

In 2024, Azerbaijan's "Single Window" Export Support Center processed 1,747 requests from businesses and individuals, facilitating the issuance of 3,982 export certificates. According to Vusal Gasimli, Executive Director of the Center for Analysis of Economic Reforms and Communications, these efforts supported export operations valued at USD 288.2 million.
