President of Azerbaijan: Innovations to Replace "Best Teachers"
President Ilham Aliyev on August 3 canceled his order of 4 September 2007 On the Establishment of Best Teacher and Best Educational Institution awards.
According to the new decree, the funds annually allocated from the state budget for these awards will be directed to the implementation of grant projects on development and innovation in education.
Aliyev last awarded the winners of the Best Educational Institution and Best Teacher for 2014/2015 on December 21, 2015.
The lump-sum award of AZN 10 thousand was allocated to 51 general educational institutions and AZN 5,000 was allocated to 116 teachers. The total amount of premiums was about AZN 1.58 million. This amount will now be directed to innovations in secondary education. -0-
