Satellites Identify Agricultural Areas in Azerbaijan
The Azerbaijani satellite Azersky and the French satellite Pleiades will help create a regular land identification system in Azerbaijan. According to the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of AR, the agreement on the project was signed between Azercosmos JSC and Aerial Geodesy State Enterprise.
The client is the Ministry of Agriculture. According to its idea, the capacities of the partner of the national space agency (French company Airbus Defense and Space) will let create satellite digital photomaps on the use of agricultural land and the identification of other lands. The accuracy of the mapping is due to the contractor’s capabilities; the resolution of the images from the French satellite Pleiades is 50 cm. --17D-
