Standard Halal only at 3 producers of sausages

Aprel,1 expired the government’s ultimatum to the producers of sausages and sausage products, demanding the withdrawal of the labeling "halal" before re-certification. To date, to obtain a certificate "halal," the State Standard Committee has been addressed by 9 of more than 20 manufacturers of meat products that previously used the label "halal".

In January this year, the State Committee on Standardization, Metrology and Patents (SCSMP) required to remove the 1st of April this year the mark "halal" from their products, since no manufacturer of meat products had previously received a certificate to issue halal products, although the standard "halal" came into force in August 2012.

The spokesperson of the State Standard, Fazil Talybov, told Turan that research on industrial premises, etc. for compliance with the standards of "halal" is continuing both within the country and abroad. Currently, the committee’s specialists are visiting in India to observe places of slaughter, from where meat comes to Azerbaijan for sausage production. According to the representative of SCSMP, 90% of the meat required for the production of sausage is imported from India.

Today three of the nine applications to obtain a certificate have been given a preliminary positive conclusion.

In 2013, the official production of sausage products amounted to 1,800 tons.

Halal (Arabic حلال) is actions permitted in the Shari'ah. In everyday life under Muslim halal, meat is generally understood, the use of which does not violate Islamic dietary restrictions.

You are forbidden to eat carrion, blood, pork, and animals slaughtered without mentioning the name of Allah, strangled, stabbed with sticks, or animals that died themselves, or were killed with horns or by predators, i.e. animals slaughtered on pagan altars.

Halal also applies to almost every sphere of human life, to food, clothing, jewelry, cosmetics and perfumes, personal hygiene, recreation, entertainment, finance, human relations, the environment, to the work performed, the order of their property, etc. The opposite of halal is haram (forbidden). -08B-
