State Statistics Committee once again averaged incomes

Average monthly income per capita in Azerbaijan by August 1 of this year amounted to 319,87 manat (minus 5% by the end of last year, when it was at the level of AZN 336.6).

According to the State Statistics Committee, the worst this year for this indicator was June - 291.1 manat, the best - March with 367.4 manat for each citizen. In this case, the real money incomes were below average - in July 314.8 in June - 260.1 manat.

According to Turan’s experts, the State Statistic Committee uses the procedure of averaging income in order to overstate the standard of living. In Azerbaijan, there are half-million state employees and 1.2 million pensioners receiving monthly 140 - 250 manat. Also in the country there are about 60 thousand disabled people who receive state benefits from 40 to 50 manat, depending on the degree of disability. Many of them do not have a guardian and live below the poverty line. At the same time the country has a layer of millionaires and officials "supervising" them - the oligarchs whose incomes are incompatible with the income of the majority of the citizenry.

From 1 January 2014 the head of state set a limit criterion of need in the country at 100 manat. According to the law on the subsistence level, the average rate was set at 125 manat, for the working-age population - 136, for pensioners – 103, and for children - 103 manat. -17D-
