Tengizchevroil not to increase gas prices for residents of Atyrau province
Tengizchevroil, which has been developing Tengiz and Korolev fields in the Atyrau province, will not be able to increase gas price for the local residents, despite change of the USD rate.
Gumar Dusembayev, first deputy chief of the Atyrau province, told correspondent of Kazinform that at present Tengizchevroil delivers 1,300,000,000 cub.m. of natural gas for the needs of the region.
Since 2009 after the tenge devaluation the contract with Tengizchevroil, which earlier tied the gas price to USD, was revised and converted into tenge. Therefore, the gas supplier has no grounds to increase gas price after the revision.
At present 1 cub.m. of natural gas for the population costs 5.2 tenge.---0--
