The Average Lending Rate in the Regions Much Higher than in Baku
Lending in Baku totaled 87.8% of the total bank borrowings of the country's population.
According to the Central Bank of Azerbaijan, by April 1 of this year, total lending portfolio of the capital was 11 billion 369 million 952.3 thousand manats, an increase from the beginning of the year by 1.7%. Of these 7 billion 504 million 120.9 thousand issued in manats, the remaining 3 billion 865 million 831.4 thousand manat - in foreign currency. The average annual rate on capital loans was 14.3% (AZN - 14.2%, in foreign currency - 14.4%).
In the regions, this figure is much higher. Thus, commercial banks lent to Absheron economic region for needs of businesses and individuals at 18.4% per annum in the amount of 359 million 626.3 thousand manats. In other regions, the situation is even worse - in Aran banks lent 536 million 384.3 thousand manats at 20.5%, in the Ganja-Gazakh region - 210 million 535.1 thousand manats at 21.8%, and in Lankaran - 166 mln 635.6 thousand manats at 24%.
Officially voiced NPLs in Baku on April 1 were 5.7% (646 million 754.5 thousand manats).
Long-term loans due to the lower rates, larger volume and time advantage, popular short-term loans - a demand for it in the capital amounted to 8 billion 335 million 569.4 thousand manats (+7.3% YTD), the other AZN 3 billion 34 mln 382.9 thsd (-10.9%) fell on the share of short-term loans. - 17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
