The injured passengers of the bus number 124 received one-time payment of Ministry of Transport
Passengers of the metropolitan shuttle bus No 124 that collided with a train in Lokbatan near Baku on August 31, will be paid in a lump sum compensation on the liability of vehicle owners to third parties.
As the Compulsory Insurance Office (CIO) told Turan, 5,000 AZN for each victim will be paid by the company (member of the Office), which has a contract for a new CTP with "Baku passenger transport." They did not name the company, citing commercial confidentiality.
CIO was created in the framework of implementation of the law "On compulsory insurance. Regarding CTP the law provides a maximum average European level of proven benefits for health damage and life loss in one accident as 50,000 manat (with four passengers and a driver), the damage of one individual - 5,000 AZN, and the damage of a car is also compensated at the rate of AZN 5,000.
By law, cases of non-insurance payments for CTP are not provided. Passenger or pedestrian is injured in action even drunk, escaped from the scene or has committed an intentional crash driver, and the driver with no driver's license (if he was the owner of the vehicle) is entitled to receive compensation. Another thing is that entities responsible for a traffic accident shall be liable for illegal activities.
Meanwhile, the passengers have been given lump-sum compensation by the government. As the head of the Secretariat of the Transport Ministry of Azerbaijan Namik Hasanov told Turan, the money was given by the Ministry of Transport self-supporting enterprise.
The families of the six dead passengers were issued 5,000 AZN each, while 47 injured passengers placed on the day of the tragedy in Baku hospitals (City Clinical Center, Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics, and Oilmen's Hospital) were issued 500 manat each.
Limited Liability Company "Baku passenger transport" is run by relatives of the Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov. In July, as the head of the commercial structure the Minister's nephew Rovshan Mammadov was appointed. Before him, this position was held by another nephew of the Minister - Dawood Efendizadeh.
According to the Prosecutor General of Azerbaijan in relation to the same severe accident a criminal case has been filed. They arrested two men - the switchman of the railroad crossing at the site Heybat - Buta, Eyyub Ismayilov, and the bus driver Farid Agayev. - 17D-
