The limit on the preferential gas price has been reduced, and the gas price for boiler houses in residential buildings has been reduced
Baku/30.06.21/Turan: The Tariff Council established new prices for natural gas from July 1. For subscribers from the "population" category, who consume 1200 cubic meters of gas a year, the tariff will still be 10 gapik per cubic meter.
According to the Tariff Council, 51% of consumers from the “population” category meet this limit. Above the specified indicator, the price will be different.
Each cubic meter in excess of 1200 cubic meters up to 2500 cubic meters will cost the consumer 2-hapik, and over 2500 cubic meters - 25 gapik. Previously, the limit tariff of 10 gapik applied to the volume up to 2200 cubic meters.
The tariff for natural gas for industry and agriculture remains at the current level - 20 gapik. At the same time, the tariff for gas supplied to power plants has been increased from only 12 to 13 qapik per cubic meter.
According to the expert-economist, Natig Jafarli, the rise in prices for natural gas will affect 65-70% of the country's population.
“Today's decision has reduced the limit for the population from 2200 cubic meters to 1200 cubic meters. Before that, the population paid 10 gapik up to 2200 cubic meters. After exceeding the limit of 1200 cubic meters, you will have to pay twice as much, and over 2500 cubic meters - already 25 gapik,” Jafarli said.
In 2020, 21% of subscribers exceeded the limit of 2200 cubic meters. “Now we can confidently say that the number of those who have exceeded the limit will be even higher,” he said.
Jafarli noted that some growth is planned for commercial enterprises as well. This will lead to an increase in prices for goods and services in these areas.
In order to optimize heating costs for citizens, the gas tariff for boiler houses in residential buildings has been reduced from 20 to 13 qapik per one cubic meter. -03/16B-
