Azerbaijani climber is going to conquer Broad Peak (K3)
Baku/30.06.21/Turan: The famous Azerbaijani climber Israfil Ashurli these days is taking part in an expedition to the Broad Peak (K3), 8051 meters high mountain in Karakorum. Ashurly told Turan that he was climbing together with Russian climber Andrey Zaitsev.
Currently, climbers are in the Base Camp at the foot of the mountain at an altitude of about 5 thousand meters. Today, the athletes have begun acclimatization hikes on the route, during which the body gets used to the altitude and climbers set intermediate camps. From the last assault camp, the summit is being assaulted along the western wall, which is planned for the second half of July.
Israfil Ashurly is the most titled climber of Azerbaijan and today he is the only Azerbaijanis to conquer Everest and three other eight-thousanders of the world - Lhotse, Kanchenjanga, Manaslu.
