WB will apply a strategic approach to Azerbaijan
Preparing by the World Bank (WB) of the Country Partnership Framework strategy in relations with Azerbaijan will be completed in I- st quarter of 2015 .
According to the head of the Baku office of the Bank, Larisa Leshchenko, the pilot project is applicable to three countries - Azerbaijan, Albania and Bulgaria. Meanwhile a report is prepared on systematic diagnosis of the country and then there will be consultation with the government, NGOs , academia , universities, think tanks , other sections of the general public. The report will be ready in September, she said.
"The peculiarity of the report is that it will identify key challenges facing the country. This work will be conducted in the two strategic objectives that the Bank Group has set itself. The first goal is to reduce the deep poverty and the second goal is a more equitable distribution wealth in the country," added the manager.
The Strategic Program Country Partnership Framework for Azerbaijan will be designed for the financial years 2015-2018. The WB Board of Directors October 21, 2010 adopted a new strategy of cooperation with Azerbaijan designed for the financial cycle 2011-2014.
Azerbaijan has been a member of the World Bank since 1992. The World Bank for the period of cooperation for the implementation of 51 projects in Azerbaijan has allocated loans totaling $ 3.3 billion. Currently under implementation are 17 projects. - 17D-

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
