European Commissioner: Azerbaijan is a pan-European gas supplier
Baku/03.05.23//Turan: Azerbaijan and the European Union (EU) held an energy dialogue in Brussels, European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson said.
"Today I held an energy dialogue between the European Union and Azerbaijan (with Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov) to discuss our strategic partnership," Simson tweeted.
She added that Azerbaijan is a "pan-European gas supplier." "However, our cooperation is not limited to gas, there is a huge potential in the field of renewable energy sources," Simson noted.
She stressed that the EU has overcome the winter with half-filled gas storage facilities, more stable gas prices and a positive outlook for next winter.
"We have achieved this thanks to the actions of EU citizens and our reliable partners, such as Azerbaijan. We are both determined to implement our strategic partnership," the European Commissioner for Energy stressed.
The energy dialogue between Azerbaijan and the European Union (EU) took place on May 2 in Brussels.
The parties planned to summarize the results of cooperation between the EU and Azerbaijan in the energy sector and discuss its promotion, the Directorate General for Energy of the European Commission (EC) reported previously. In particular, the EU and Azerbaijan planned to exchange views on the situation with gas supplies, discuss the expansion of the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC), cooperation on the transition to "clean energy". –0-
