Azerbaijan has introduced new measures to implement amendments to its law on cinematography, a move authorities say is aimed at modernizing the country’s film industry and attracting international productions.

Azerbaijan’s interagency Coordination Headquarters overseeing the restoration of territories recaptured from Armenia held its latest meeting on March 16 in the city of Khojavend, underscoring the government’s continued efforts to accelerate reconstruction and resettlement in the region.

Azerbaijan has once again extended the special quarantine regime across its territory, a measure that effectively keeps the country’s land borders closed to passenger traffic while allowing air travel and cargo transportation to continue, according to Cabinet of Ministers decision No. 80 dated March 16 this year. The resolution, signed by Prime Minister Ali Asadov, prolongs restrictions introduced during the COVID-19 pandemic and repeatedly extended since 2020.
