Ekrem Imamoglu Confidently Wins Election of Mayor of Istanbul
Baku / 23.06.19 / Turan: Candidate from the opposition Republican People"s Party of Turkey Ekrem Imamoglu confidently wins the re-election of the Mayor of Istanbul.
According to preliminary data, after the counting of votes in more than 95% of polling stations, 53.8 percent of voters supported him. 45.3 percent of voters voted for the candidate from the ruling Justice and Development Party Binali Yıldırım.
Yıldırım has already congratulated Imamoglu.
Thus, for the first time in the last 25 years, a representative of the opposition has become the Mayor of Istanbul. --06D--
