The European Union in the 12th package of sanctions prohibited exporters from re-exporting to the Russian Federation
lenta.ru: The authorities of the European Union (EU) in the 12th package of anti-Russian sanctions introduced the No Russia rule to foreign trade. According to its terms, exporters are prohibited from re-exporting “sensitive” categories of goods from third countries to the Russian market, the EU Council said in a statement.
Until recently, such clauses had the status of recommendations of the European authorities, but in the 12th package of anti-Russian sanctions they were made mandatory. Such restrictions also imply a ban on re-export of products to third countries for further use in Russia.
The new mandatory condition must be included in new export contracts by March 20, 2024. If the deal is concluded before December 19, 2023, then a clause prohibiting re-export must be introduced into it by December 20, 2024, or earlier if the contract expires before this date and is extended.
