Azerbaijani media, politicians and analysts of the country are heatedly discussing Erdogan"s refusal to recognize the victory of a political opponent in Istanbul. Some Azerbaijanis accuse the president of a brotherly country of totalitarianism, and many Turkish events discussing completely forget or pretend to forget about the absence of even a flawed democracy in their country. If you do not know about the internal political problems of Azerbaijan, you might think that those who criticize Turkey live in Switzerland with its ideal democratic traditions.

Political analyst Elhan Shahinoglu recalls Erdogan"s words that the elections were left behind; there will be no elections in the country for the next four and a half years, and we must tackle the problems. The main objection of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) is that if, because of the recalculation, the number of votes for the candidate of the Republican People's Party, Ekrem Imamoglu, only in some regions decreased from 26 to 12 thousand. Recalculation in all regions will change in favor of BInali Yildirim, the candidate of the ruling party.

It looks logical. However, the question arises: why did the representatives of the AKP, who were observing the election, ignored such cheating and signed the final protocols? The new Election Commission"s decision creates conditions for suspicion of any results of future elections in Turkey. It will be difficult to make transparent elections. The holding of new elections in Istanbul will set a negative precedent.

In addition, the ruling party has found a trace of Erdogan Fatullah Gulen, who lives in the US, in the IC. The Istanbul Prosecutor"s Office opened a criminal case against 43 members of the commission for involvement in the Gülen network. A terrifying picture emerges from the statement of the ruling party: Gulen"s network is capable of influencing the election results in Turkey. Apparently, with a different decision, the chair of the IC himself could not get rid of the suspicion that he himself was under the influence of Gulen.

Thus, until June 23, Turkey again becomes a field of struggle. One of the main questions is will the AKP and the People"s Republican Party (PRP) nominate the same candidates? However, if the PRP agrees to repeat elections, then Ekrem Imamoglu will continue to be her candidate. However, it is difficult to say whether the candidate AKP will be Binali Yildirim again.

In fact, last time Ekrem Imamoglu competed with Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and not with Binali Yıldırım. If this time will be so, it will mean that Erdogan does not trust his candidates and believes that his party will not be able to win the elections if he himself is not in the squares. Now the victim was Ekrem Imamoglu. "Perhaps the AKP itself, without realizing it, is clearing the way for strengthening Ekrem Imamoglu as a politician," Elhan Shainoglu predicts.

The majority of Istanbul Kurds in the March 31 elections voted for Imamoglu, an opponent of Erdogan"s protégé. There is no dictatorship in Turkey - there is a single-person system of unchallenged power of the president, and it is depressing that the whole system is settled for the personal qualities of one person, said Natiq Jafarli, one of the leaders of the Azerbaijani REAL party. That is, whoever comes to power after Erdogan, he will inherit the system built by Erdogan and there is no guarantee that the next president will not get worse. The system built by him is problematic; the institutions are weak. However, political and public institutions still living in the country do not allow the system to turn into a dictatorship, and this seems impossible, Jafarli said.

There is no dictatorship in Azerbaijan - we have an authoritarian patronage system, everything is built on one person. Since socio-political institutions in Azerbaijan are very weak, resistance to the ruling system is unsuccessful. However, Azerbaijani society is more modern than Turkish, this is our advantage. In Azerbaijan, a dictatorship is impossible, because corruption is flourishing and it is not strange, but today corruption does not allow authoritarianism to turn into a dictatorship. Another reason for the absence of dictatorship in Azerbaijan is the lack of ideology among the ruling elite, that is, it does not believe in universal and attractive values ​​and therefore cannot convince the people of them. It was not a policy, but a cartoon in Azerbaijan," Jafarly issued a resolution.
