Turkish opposition puts forward its single candidate against Erdogan
Two leading opposition parties of Turkey, the People's Republican and Nationalist actions agreed to nominate a single candidate for the country's first general presidential elections to be held in August.
A single opposition candidate, Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu, who since 2005-2014 was the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, which unites 55 Muslim countries.
Ihsanoglu was born in 1943 in Cairo and graduated from the Egyptian University "Shams", as well as the famous religious university "Al Azhar". He is a professor, a specialist in Islamic and Western culture.
Currently Ihsanoglu is a professor at Harvard University.
Analysts believe that the opposition decided to hit the government candidate, the current Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and to beat by his card – by the bet on the faithful voters. Nomination Ihsanoglu can split the electorate of Erdogan. -05В-
