Ukrainian mothers ask Turkey to become a guarantor of respect for the defenders of “Azovstal”
Baku/18.05.22/Turan: On May 18, the mothers of the defenders of “Azovstal” had two important meetings with Turkish officials in Ankara.
The Ukrainian women turned to the officials with a request that the Turkish side become a guarantor of respect for the Ukrainian defenders of Mariupol and prevent the bullying and destruction of our fighters who defended “Azovstal.”
The mothers had a conversation with the first deputy head of the Justice and Development Party of the Republic of Turkey (the ruling party of the country) Numan Kurtulmush.
In addition, the head of the Ukrainian-Turkish Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group, deputy of the Turkish Grand National Assembly Tugrul Turkes and Yalcin Topcu, adviser to Turkish President Racep Erdogan, met with the Ukrainians.
The fears of the mothers and wives of the defenders of Azovstal are not unfounded. The Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation filed a lawsuit with the Supreme Court of Russia on the recognition of the Ukrainian battalion "Azov", which was the backbone of the defenders of “Azovstal”, as a terrorist organization. The trial will take place on May 26 in the building of the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation.
Two thousand defenders of “Azovstal” began to voluntarily lay down their arms by the orders of the supreme command due to the reduction in food and ammunition supplies. In complete encirclement, resistance lasted 82 days.
"Azov" is a separate special forces detachment as part of the military unit 3057 of the Eastern Operational-Territorial Association of the National Guard of Ukraine.—0—
