Youth in Turkey starts a new wave of protests

This afternoon the youth organizations in Turkey began mass protests in Ankara.   The protesters are against the military detention in the cases of "Ergenekon" and Balyoz; they demanded the release of the detained, and gathered in front of parliament. The police did not allow the demonstrators to the building.

The MP from the National Democratic Party, Dilek Yilmaz, had talks with the police to admit members to parliament.  The participants of the rally were chanting "Freedom or Death", "We are soldiers of Mustafa Kamal!"

According to recent reports, the police began using tear gas to disperse protesters.

According to local observers, a new wave of protests against the Erdogan government is beginning in Turkey, and it will increase with the approach of the municipal elections scheduled for March.

Many experts predict the defeat of the ruling party, the rating of which, compared to last year, fell twice. At the same time, there is a serious outflow of members from the ruling AKP party, some of which joined the opposition. -05D04-
