14 million manats for bridge construction in Agbend allocated
Baku/30.10.23/Turan: President Ilham Aliyev signed an order on the construction of a bridge across the Araz River between the village of Agbend in the Zangelan region with Iran. For these purposes, 14 million manats are allocated to the State Agency of Highways from the reserve fund of the President in the state budget of 2023.
Note that the foundation of the road bridge and border and customs infrastructure in the area of the village of Agbend was laid on October 6 with the participation of Azerbaijani Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev and Iranian Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash.
The construction of the bridge is carried out within the framework of the intergovernmental memorandum on the creation of new communication links between the East Zangezur Economic Region of Azerbaijan and the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (NAR).
The capacity of the bridge will be 1.100 cars, 30 buses and 15.000 people every day.
It has to be remembered that the bridge over Agbend is a component of the transport corridor from Azerbaijan to NAR, which will become an alternative to the Zangezur corridor. -06B-
