A large group of military men was awarded the medal "For the Liberation of Shushа"
Baku/29.12.20/Turan: On December 29, the head of state issued a decree on awarding more than 4,600 military men with the medal "For the Liberation of Shushi."
The list of those awarded includes the commanders of the formation and secret forces of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, who played a key role in this brilliant operation to liberate the historical and cultural center of Karabakh from the occupation.
The list of those awarded also includes the commanders of the units of the army corps that participated in the operation. Hundreds of military personnel, including generals, officers, sergeants and privates have been awarded. Some were awarded posthumously.
Let us remind that the battles for Shusha began on November 3 and ended in full on the evening of the seventh. For several days, units of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces made sabotage sorties into the city, destroying enemy personnel and equipment and conducting reconnaissance in force. Early in the morning of the seventh, secret forces rushed into the city from three directions, destroying enemy positions, leading street and hand-to-hand fighting. At the same time, heavy equipment was not used.
Up to 800 Armenian soldiers were destroyed, who made three attempts to recapture the city. The last group of 120 people was killed on the outskirts of the city, being ambushed. -02D-
