A meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Syria in Teheran
Within the framework of participation of the leaders of the Non-Aligned Movement in Tehran, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov has met today with the Foreign Minister of Syria, Walid al-Muallem.
According to the press service of Foreign Ministry, the meeting was held at the initiative of the Syrian side. The same source reported that the sides exchanged views on Azerbaijan's non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council. The parties expressed mutual support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of both countries.
Mammadyarov again expressed Azerbaijan’s position in connection with the processes in the Middle East, and Syria, according to the conclusion of the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
Earlier, at the voting in the UN Security Council and the Summit of Heads of State of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on Syria expressed solidarity with the Arab League, to excluding the regime of Bashar al-Assad. –06D--
